Was if confirmed it was a .223 remington 700 or is it speculations ?
I don't know if it's confirmed. It says on that wpd post that is the rifle Ronnie mcnut used .

It looks like the person making that post researched everything very well. And imo the explosive nature of the bullet to me suggests very high velocity.

To me it seemed almost like a grenade but it was a bullet

The bullets for that rifle can reach around 3600 feet per second. 1 kilometer is around 3200 feet

This .223 ammunition is 3600 feet per second .

Some handguns can have velocity of 1000 fps to 1300 fps compare to 3600 fps

Visualize a bullet traveling 1 kilometer per second hitting a head imo a head will never survive that

Here is a video you should watch of a guy using a low caliber pistol. He shoots himself in the first couple of minutes but for 20 more minutes you can hear him drown in blood and suffocate. He may well have been conscious of this

Must have been painful. Seems the bullet traveled near his throat and nose despite aiming at temple

If you already have sn just go with that
no need to wager your life on unreliable caliber

Grenade effect is due to the shockwave that high velocity projectiles (2000+fps) create which are mostly found in rifle and shotgun rounds. Ronnie aimed under the chin which isn't the best place to aim (I would've done it in the mouth or side of head personally) but it didn't matter because the shockwave of the .223 (allegedly) was so destructive that it destroyed his entire face and half of his head. After he pulled the trigger he recoiled back due to the force and was 100% killed instantly from the bullet. I've watched the part where he pulled the trigger frame by frame and the destructive force of the shockwave gets exponentially worse millisecond by millisecond. Unfortunately I can't post the frame captures here as it's definitely against the rules but with handgun rounds the head stays in tact and only has a temporary and permanent wound cavity, aka a hole through and through. This is because handgun rounds don't have as much kinetic energy as rifle and shotgun rounds. This is also why there really isn't that much disfigurement with handgun suicides compared to rifle and shotgun suicides where the head can nearly become decapitated at times (especially with shotguns). I was just taking a look at Eric Harris' and Dylan Klebold's dead body pics again and my point about this is proven by the pics. Dylan used a 9mm pistol and showed no disfigurement only an entry and exit wound with blood flowing out of his orifices. But Eric nearly decapitated himself because he put a 12 gauge in his mouth. Basically 75-80% of his head was gone. No different than putting a grenade in your mouth.
