Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Any members choosing hanging?

I'm looking to talk to other members who have chosen hanging as their method. I feel scared and alone and want to know how others are feeling about hanging. How are you building up the courage to follow through?

I'm trying partial hanging, it's a fast and easy to set up method for me. I tie a rope around my neck and try partial hanging without actually commiting every few days. This gives me some experience on where the rope should be for me to not feel unconfortable and which position of my body is the most confortable. Another thing I do is I think of the consequences of my death a lot, and I start to be desensitized to it. The other thing is, only seriously attempt once you're sure, there's no rush, but in the end, nobody has the right to stop you.

During your practice, have you ever encountered struggling to breathe or a feeling to gasp for air? Does going unconscious happen before you would feel that?
I have always considered hanging as a method and it's the method that I've thought about the most as after all it's more easily accessible than many other methods. However to me it sounds like an awful way to leave this world and what has always held me back from attempting is the fear of something going wrong if I tried to attempt, which would just cause more suffering. The thought of potentially failing ctb really is so horrifying to me.
It does make hanging sound so much easier than it actually is when you hear of all these people succeeding with it. I guess this just shows that it's always possible to achieve true freedom from this world by using this method, even if it's difficult. I really envy those who have succeeded. Maybe a lot of people who managed to get the courage just got so desperate to finally leave this life behind or they just knew that it was time and this allowed them to overcome the SI.

I've chosen this method since 2018, I've the rope ready and also the place to do it; I lack the courage to leave this world despite having the intention.

Quick question. I'm been lingering on this site for awhile now and I see people mention cbt all the time. I get the idea based on context, but what does it actually stand for?

Yes, I would have a hard time breathing, but if the position of the rope and your body posture is right, it's not that uncomfortable. And yes, you would be conscious when that happens. However, I believe if hanging is done right, the rope will only compress on the neck arteries and not the airway. So you will still be able to breath normally more or less. My suggestion is to try partial hanging without actually commiting to it before you make a serious attempt. This will make everything much easier.

I've seen post saying to lean forward for partial but when you go unconscious, you would fall and not know the position you'd end in. Can it be done by lowering yourself straight down from your anchor point instead of leaning ?

I'm not sure, I have not fallen unconscious yet, but probably. Like I said, some experienmenting is needed. You will know you are about to go unconscious, at least for me I had a feeling.

What was that feeling like?
And do you get a sore neck after practicing? I've just hand tightened my rope and pulled it tight by holding it over my head to see how it feels and my neck is sore with light marks

Ah, I forgot to mention, stuff some kind of thin cloth or padding between the rope and the neck. To prevent the rope marks and it will make it more comfortable. I felt my head getting super heavy and cloudy, it felt like I was going unconcisious. I'm pretty sure if I stayed in the same position I would've been unconcisious.

This might sound weird, but I'm going to say it anyway . My boyfriend choked me once during sex, and compressed my carotids. The choking wasn't out of the norm but he was particularly rough and high up on my neck that time. I started to lose consciousness quickly- my vision went dark and my head felt full, hearing went muffled, I don't remember having trouble breathing, and I felt a pull into nothingness if that makes sense. I honestly was hoping he'd kill me, despite this wish being fucked up and unrealistic. All that to say, I think if I could do that to myself through partial hanging, it would be a nice way to ctb.

Oookay, except for this part, it is a little bit messed up
But on the other hand sounds like a very nice way to die. Would love to do this, if it didn't completely destroy the life of the poor chap that will accidentally choke me to death.

Yes, I think we all imagine perfect hanging as something like that.
Hahahaha . At least I knew it was fucked up. That counts for something right?
But yeah, it was really calming honestly. Ngl I also pass out on rollercoasters . So maybe my body already wants to die that way.

High up on your neck like under the jaw line? Some members post saying lower on neck under Adam's apple ( for men )
I'm female. This always confused me because any pics I've seen of hanging , the rope looks like it's high on neck. I don't understand how a rope would even stay below without riding up.
I just want to make sure I have the rope placed right as if I fail I don't want a bunch of attempt marks on my neck and be committed to a mental hospital

Yes. With the most pressure being on the sides. That's where a hand was nice because he was able to constrict the sides without blocking my airway. I'd personally go above Adams apple area under the jaw, but I've also never attempted. However, if I try that's how I'd do it.

Are you trying partial or full? And what scares you? Maybe we can talk about the fears to help give comfort
I've done a lot of research and trust me, you don't want the rope below the Adam's apple. Whoever you read that from is wrong. It won't compress the arteries properly that way and its likely to crush your windpipe and be very painful. Go above the Adams apple
