i dont trust alot my family, even though ill be dead i dont want some stuff messed with (expensive jewerly mainly).

any ideas on how i can hide it so that its not found by them or taken?

i was considering cutting open a plushie and hiding it in it then sewing back shut.

im pretty confident they wont change my room or anything after i die, they gonna look in the obvious places

sorry if i sound so stupid/greedy over this just i dont want them having it and giving it away, any better hiding spot ideas?

Give it to someone you want to have it or sell it yourself. I'm gonna have to throw away shit I don't want my family to find. I hope I don't survive to regret it

im scared of surviving and regretting it hence why i want to hide it, was considering cutting a hidden hole in my closet wall, patching over it, painting over it, bc i know it will never get found then

i know it sounds like too much but i dont trust my family

Yeah I get that. You could bury it in a park or your backyard. Next to a tree or something immobile so you can find it again if needed. Similarly you could hide it in a tree as some have hollows in them. I wouldn't hide it in my room cuz I'm paranoid that it would get searched by cops or something

I second this, for me I also want to sell the few things I have. I don't need my mom snooping through my stuff.

This. Erasing data, like formatting storage devices or just throwing things away is a good idea, too.

If you don't want it found, the only real option is to move it somewhere that people have no reason to look. Like in the ground in a random spot somewhere.

I am curious about this question. Is it in case you fail? Or you want these items to remain yours in a way?

Otherwise the easiest option would be to give the things to people that aren't the ones you're hiding it from. And then to destroy the other things you want no one to have. For example you could burn anything that's safe to burn.

okayy, i might go with the wall idea then bc i dont want weather ruining it

a bit of both, i have sentimental value to it so i dont want to destroy it, and i want it to always be mine and nobody elses

This is a solid idea. However, eventually most families move houses due to passing or otherwise. So in 50 years it's likely a stranger moves in to this house. They will likely find your stuff if they renovate. Still I do think it will last longer in the wall then buried outside. Lots of people use metal detectors and look for treasure in the ground lol, plus natural decay.

And that is very fair, I have some things of my own that I would like to "always be mine". I will have to put some thought in to this as well, thank you for sharing your thoughts here

I really get it too. I spent hours a few weeks ago chucking stuff out so that there is nothing for them to find. I was crying a bit when I started but actually, I haven't looked for any of that stuff again or regretted it and I think it has made me a bit tougher. About doing stuff that serves me instead of doing what I'm told.

But there are a couple of things that I kept and I use and I don't want to rebuy if I fail. I am thinking of doing it in a very big, secluded park at night. Those things I am thinking of hiding somewhere in a bag at the edge of the park and if I fail, picking them up afterwards. I also wonder if this worry about leaving things behind that my family can find is about me being scared or unsure and sabotaging myself. I will be gone, so really, it doesn't matter what they do.
