Announcement of Farewell Wiki, a new pro-choice wiki

I'm excited to announce that we are finally ready to publish Farewell Wiki, a new pro-choice wiki. We had previously made this website available to Sanctuary members as a trial, and we have now decided to open it up to everyone. This is an attempt to bring former Suicide Wiki back to life. Our site is focusing on reliability, uniqueness, usability, and empowering people to make a well-informed decision about their own life. While Sanctioned Suicide provides a significant amount of suicide resources, it would be wonderful to have an organized, up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge base, which is difficult to have on forum-based websites. I believe the best way to get rid of the social stigma surrounding suicidal people is sharing a pro-choice, compassionate viewpoint, which is what the wiki aims to do.

This website is just hatching. Most of the current articles are simply imported from other, discontinued pro-choice wikis. We are growing and would love to work with you to make this wiki more helpful. If you are interested in joining or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can leave comments here. This is an amazing idea - thanks for putting it together! Hopefully this gets regular updates and becomes a useful knowledge base to reference - seen a few posts on the forum struggling to find resources that're hidden in previous posts, and I can imagine a wiki alleviating that

I understand the concern. Actually those links have been included already when the pages were imported from other wikis. We haven't established policies on how to treat sources. Something useful would be a section with basic information on wills. I see a lot of people here saying they wrote out who they want to inherit what in their note. However, in a lot of places this is not considered a legal document, leading to all possessions being seized by the courts and a general legal mess. I know this is different everywhere and should not be actual legal advice, but maybe just some mentions of what a legally recognized will requires to get people thinking about it.

Actual wills, deciding who will inherit what, do not belong in a suicide note. Suicide notes may not be considered a legal document in your country, and thus may be easily contested or ignored, leading to a legal mess. If it is important for you that your wishes be followed, you have to figure out how to achieve this according to the laws in your country.
