Hey guys,

I've ordered the SN, just waiting on the shipping email.

I'll be getting the antacid and the antiemetic later today.

I already have the painkillers I plan on using.

I have the rough drafts of my notes, and have planned to send out an automated text message. And I'll draft how I want my things to be distributed.

Is there anything serious I'm missing?

Thank you. I wish you peace too, for when you CTB as well.
After reading your story, I'd love to chat with you, if you're okay with that.

If you are trying to cover all the bases (and ofc if you haven't already put this in your notes) a final will, your financial accounts and contact info and organize your things to make it easier for whomever will settle your affairs. But seems like you have it well thought through.

Honestly, I'm thinking on the day I set out to CTB, I'll gather my clothing and other non-valuables in garbage bags. Easier for it to be donated. I have it written down in my notes who I want to have what for my valuables. I have a list of people I want contacted when I'm eventually found, and my message to them all. For the most part, my accounts are accessible through my phone, while I'll be leaving the passwords to.

I believe he means your financial accounts.

Do you have money in the bank? Nothing on your phone will help with that. If you haven't filled out the proper forms, it must be distributed through probate court, which costs money. I can explain if you wish.

Any other financial accounts: stocks, retirement accounts, etc.? Same thing, you need to do some paperwork, nothing on your phone will help.

Do you have a car? Your state's DMV has a simple form with which you can have a beneficiary put on the title, again saving the expense of probate court. Nothing on your phone will help with this.

Just in case things go wrong and you wind up in some sort of vegetative state, do you have a living will and a health care power of attorney, either witnessed or notarized? Nothing on your phone covers that.

I am married, so regardless my bank account and other things don't matter. He has access to them all, with or without my phone. Everything else is covered, because it would all default under my husband.

No offense, but even if you're married you should have a simple will. You can download one for free, print it out and sign it.

Just in case something goes wrong, you should still do a very simple one-page living will and one-paragraph health care power of attorney. You can find both online in many places: just print them out, fill out a few simple lines, have them notarized. They have nothing inherently to do with suicide, everyone should have them, no one will ask any questions or think that anything is amiss. No one has to know, just put them with your other papers.

I did that all when we bought our house a few months ago. But I've gained new possessions that I'll mention in notes for some friends I've made since then. Not like I'll care if they follow it all, I'll be on the bus.

You did a living will and a health care power of attorney when you bought your house? Very unusual, but if you're sure, cool.
Peace.

I got married December 21, moved across the country in the following month. Bought a house the month after. We already hired a lawyer for the house part, was just easier to have things officially drafted at the same time. Unusual or not, you don't know my situation.

Of course I don't, you're absolutely right. You asked if there was anything you were missing. It's something I've put a lot of time into during the past few months regarding my own situation, so I was just trying to help. I apologize if I appeared insensitive, I'm not.

Really, peace to you...
