What do you think of her approach to the issue?

Well the first 10 minutes I think there was a lot of things she said that made sense to me. But when she started talking about deciding I wanted to be born into this life she lost me a little. I didn't choose to be born into the crap I ended up experiencing. That being said. I already kinda do what she talks about, I postpone ctb, I tell myself I can do it tomorrow, next week, six months or a year. I just cant abide the spiritual stuff really.

I see that as her spiritual rhetoric/jargon, and I don't recall her saying anyone chooses to be born to suffer.. Thank you for the response though <3

She said something along the lines of us being spirits who chose to come into this life. I'm paraphrasing somewhat. It's a nice idea but I ditched spirituality quite some time ago. In fact, I think it was part of my illness expressing itself in a less destructive way. When I got better, for a few years my mind was very focused and logical and rational. I just didn't see anything in spirituality. Perhaps I rejected it due to the way religion got muddled into my mind when I was really unwell. I won't bore you with the details but that was a really horrendous experience. Better for me that I stay away from it. But I know other people find it helpful. :-)

To me, regardless of her spiritual beliefs, her work is quite meaningful in practice, even though I might disagree on some fundamental philosophical levels.
Hope you're feeling better soon, spiritual or not : )

Thanks :-) I do believe she offers some good advice. I do think postponing for whatever time you can bear does work. As long as you know you can exit whenever you want, why not make it tomorrow for as long as you can. But then theres those other times where it feels like your face is pushed right up against it and it's hard to get out of that.

Yes, I know that situation you describe, that's where her 'commit to five minutes of doing what gives relief/feels better' is quite helpful to me. One cup of coffee at a time...
