My sn should arrive soon but unfortunately it arrives in a sealed plastic bag. I wanted to ask if I can move the powder to a sealed plastic or glass container without reducing the half life. I could use it instantly but the problem is before I book a hotel room I need to do the blood test (although it says it's pure sn). I will appreciate very much for an adviceπŸ™πŸ»

Moisture is bad, high humidity should be avoided. Every time it is exposed to air it becomes less stable. From what I've read online.. it might be good for 1-3 months after exposure, but repeated exposure will continue to cause compounded issues reducing it further. If it were me, I would make the exposure as brief as possible in a very dry environment and make sure the interval of time between testing and using was kept at a minimum. I would test it right before using, do everything at once. It wouldn't be worth the risk to test it weeks or months in advance.

Please don't take my advice as fact however, I don't know very much about chemistry. Hopefully someone else with a more competent background will chime in.

1-3 months? Where did you get this from? It will always be exposed to air. If it is put into a bottle in the production process there will be air in the bottle. The thing is, its only a little air so only the O2 thats in the bottle will react with the SN. So most SN will still be intact, even after many years. I also read that exposure to air doesnt necessarily lead to the direct conversion to NO3. It will still be stable for a very long time, even after exposure.

I'm being lazy right now and will test it myself if I remember, but what color does blood turn with regular table salt? Is SN the only substance that will turn blood into a chocolate brown?

That's what I was told by the people here but I think it should be reliable information. Unfortunately I don't remember anything written about this in the pph..
