A poem I wrote as a teen about my depression

My little hot chocolate

Mt little hot chocolate
Such a fluffy cream
My little hot chocolate
Sadness is extreme

My little hot chocolate
Dark and bittersweet
My little hot chocolate
I want to be forever asleep

My little hot chocolate
Drown my sorrow
My little hot chocolate
I might finish you tomorrow

I memorized this poem by heart. It sounds childish, but it always expressed my true feelings. It's my favorite poem I have ever written.

I love it! the contrast between the sweetness of a hot chocolate while making it sound cute like we did when we were kids and the sadness and darkness of it is beautiful, i think it really captures how depression feels. We can have things that we used to enjoy, but we cannot feel happiness when we have them anymore and all we want is for the emptiness to stop, even if it means we cant have what we love ever again because the feeling of not being able to enjoy anything makes life worthless.

Very nice! I can understand that you like to show your emotions with a poem. When I was 17 I wrote some poems about suicide and depression. Today I am 45 and I feel sad that I lost these poems a long time ago. Maybe you want to write some more.
