A while ago my therapist introduced me to the idea of glimmers. Simply put, they're the opposite of triggers. They're micro-moments where we engage in the moment and experience a small period of grounding and positive feeling. She shared this with me when I was in a period of feeling like I couldn't have a positive feeling. She encouraged me to look out for these moments and give space for feeling and appreciating them. As I did this more I started to see them more. And when I couldn't find them I could revisit the things that sparked a glimmer before.

I definitely wouldn't say this "fixed" me, but it helped me be more open to the moment and the possibility of another way of feeling.

I think it could be fun to share our glimmers and the places we find them.

I'll start.

I like to feed local wild birds, particularly crows. I love watching them and their cute behaviors. I carry peanuts in my bag to share with them at opportune moments.

A trigger may be seen as something that allows anger and frustration to be expressed. The glimmer you describe sound like a trigger for wonder and appreciation to be expressed. I have found this often with the beauty of nature or artistic expression such as a painting or music.

Glimmer seeking might result in the cultivation of that in our heart that inspires, heals, and ennobles.

Touches from my gf ground me. I like it also when she shows me pictures of cute animals
