There's something about these songs that give me that nostalgic kick in the gut we're all familiar with, that's so strong that makes me feel like I'm right back in the summer of 1999 –⁠ eating ice cream sandwiches, drinking lime Crush, watching the Spice Girls movie on repeat, running through the sprinkler, listening to cassette tapes while colouring on the lawn, sitting on the monkey bars with my friends, hearing these songs on the radio... I was still fucked up then but at least I was able to enjoy things.

I can also relate to the lyrics of "Save Tonight" a lot as an adult. That song is timeless.

I'm not a boy band guy, but I recently came to appreciate the superb call-and-response of this 1995 hit, Back for Good. Take That and fellow British boy band East 17 had a fierce rivalry at the time; East 17 had a more bad ass image by comparison, and no doubt they had plenty of adoring teenage girl fans between them.
