Is it okay to dry fast the entire time or should I drink water before going into the 2 hour dry fast?

Since you're proposing a more strict fast than what Stan suggests, I think that's fine, as long as you feel ok. In other words, if you feel thirsty before the 2-hour dry fast window, drink something. If you don't, don't.
Drinking water when taking the medicine, like meto and pain-killers, is fine but make sure to drink as little water as you can. Don't drink or eat anything after SN
