But what about me?

I asked if you would go with me; you sounded excited, you didn't even know she was touring.
Yet, the response I waited for never came.
I held on to the hope until the overthinking consumed my thoughts.
"Looking for someone to come to" it read.

You were the hope that I've tried to hold on to.
You were the hope that I've lost.
