Hello,
In the SN Bible and also in this forum, 50 ml of water for 25 g of SN is considered the gold standard. However, I haven't seen any explanation for this anywhere yet. The PPEH recommends using between 50 and 100 ml of water.
My thoughts are: If the SN is more diluted (100 ml instead of 50 ml), the concentration of SN in the water is lower. Shouldn't that reduce the risk of nausea and vomiting?
I also did some research: A larger amount of water leaves the stomach and moves toward the intestines faster than a smaller amount of water because
1. the stretch receptors are activated more strongly.
2. Regardless of the stretch receptors, pressure on the stomach promotes faster emptying.
3. A liquid solution leaves the stomach faster than a viscous solution.
So, does everything actually point to 100 ml (or more?) and nothing against 50 ml? Or have I overlooked something?
I haven't read any justification for the 50 ml either in the forum or in the SN Bible. Some users point out that the SN is more diluted at 100 ml than at 50 ml. That's true, but it shouldn't matter because the total amount of SN consumed is the same.
