How would you react if you woke up and found out that you're immortal and that you can't die no matter what? What sort of things would you do?

I'd be beyond horrified, immortality is the worst thing possible to me. I guess if that happened there would simply be no choice but to suffer for all eternity.

Travel to where exactly?

Yeah, I agree. I'm so glad that our lives are mortal and that we'll die eventually. I'm just said that we don't have access to a peaceful method that will make us die earlier but at least living 100 years is better than living 1000 years or something. Though I don't even want to live 100 years... I want to live 0 years

I always had fantasies of being immortal before I wanted to ctb. However, now if I became immortal I might be a bit upset. I guess I would have all the time to fix my problems. It could be alright for a while if I got my life in order. Though I am worried about having to live and suffer forever after the heat death of the universe.

I'd probably research extensively about this immortality and try to find an antidote for it so that I can die a mortal death. Just because I'm immortal doesn't really mean I will get special treatment from humans. In fact I'd probably be experimented on cruelly by scientists or I'll still be forced to work eternally if I don't want to suffer

hmmm...
well, first thought would be "Shit".
Then i'd try again to CTB just to be sure, like lie down on railroad tracks or bullet to the head or something.
Then, if i'm still alive i'd probably think "shit" again.
Next i'd probably get as lowkey as I could get, move somewhere no one knows me.
Then i'd start working, something really low key and figuring out where to get documents, set a schedule to change identities, etc.
i'd need to start working on having enough finances, but all hidden, etc.
Then i'd go to school again, i'd take up chemistry, biology, pharmacy, chemical engineering, that stuff.
Set up a pharmacy company, as well as my own lab so that i can find an antidote for it in peace, and have others work on it without knowing what it's for.
Set up a defense contractor company/construction company to have access to explosives.
In the middle of all of this attend funerals of people I know or stalk. lol.

This is well thought out. Though, out of curiosity, how would you react if you find out that an antidote couldn't be created for it? Or, better yet, what if you realise that there isn't any antidote for it but you can create potions that will make other people immortal if they were to drink it?

you really know how to ask 'em. lol.
Let's see:
If, after a given number of centuries, i've finally accepted that there's no cure for it, then its going to be really tempting.
I could go the villain arc(control the world from the shadows, etc etc etc)
Or
i could go with the hero arc(make the world a better place, one city/country at a time)
OR...
I just realized i can do both. spend a couple of centuries being the villain, then the hero. or vice versa
----
Your second question....it's tricky...
If there's no antidote....but i can create a potion....
it's not a matter of not letting anyone drink it..it's actually ensuring that people who would appreciate it and would make the best use of it would be given the opportunity to..but then even that raises questions because..there should be balance, in a way..
a hero would need a villain.

I feel like id feel extremely depressed for a while, then I'd probably start taking a whole lotta drugs at once without having to worry about overdosing. If i dont age, after like 100 years id probably start getting really sick of it start trying to find a way to die. if i age id probably find a way to die in <20 years

Horrified. For a second time my life has had choice plucked away from me.

Its bad enough existing as i class it as slavery but to never die sounds like hell..

To endure humanities madness till the end, seeing life perish to roam a barren planet till it all goes boom.

I see. When you first learn that you're immortal, would you try to prove that claim or would you immediately go into feeling depressed?

Utterly disgusted. If this were to happen, I'm going to devote my newfound infinite immortal energy into making the world an even shittier place until all of humanity collectively decides that me being immortal is their biggest threat and they use their indomitable collective human spirit to find the cure to immortality through sheer hatred of me.

Though I'd probably also start feeling less inclined to follow society's rules. Maybe I'd just enjoy the hedonistic side of things as much as I can until it starts to bore me.

Either outcome is terrible and that's why I shouldn't be made immortal and in fact I should be made to die asap.

I have no real problem with being alive provided everything is fine. But I have too many issues physically (and by extension mentally) to want to hang around forever. I'm not one of these suicidal edgelords. It's just that I know I can't go on forever feeling this badly, especially if I were to worsen. So it would all depend on the quality of life associated with that immortality.

What if humanity decides to lock you up in jail for eternity instead? I mean, it's not like they have to pay much to maintain you as it isn't like you can die from a lack of food and/or water due to being, well, immortal and all

Preferably it wouldn't come to that but at least if they have me locked up, they'll still be worried by my mere existence. Besides, all infrastructures eventually crumble and the people in charge of me can still be made to get exhausted and burnt out of their jobs just like anyone else. Unless AI is used as my wardens then I guess I'd just have to wait which would be what I'm doing anyway. Life itself would already be like a prison at that point so really it's just putting a box in a box.
