There have been a few cases recently where they slipped and fell over 100 ft from a cliff and survived.

Is it a sheer drop or did he tumble down rather than free fall?

He fell 120ft and all he had was cuts and bruises and was helped ashore, I have read lots of stories of people falling from 20 or 40 ft and dying. He was lucky the tide was in.

Yeh, suppose it comes down to different factors and it really seems to be luck of the draw when jumping from these types of heights.

see I beg to differ o the water thing, there is a bridge near me which iI want to use, its not the highest but there's rocks, some dickhead for a joke jumped off it a few years back, tide was out, the guy had a sprained ankle nothing else, police said if it had been high tide it would have been a different story?

This is why I am not keen on the jumping method to ctb, It may not always succeed. I have always liked the idea of jumping but would never go through with it.

I suppose it's all down to the current and water conditions if you dive into the Thames they say the current will pull you under and the cold will send you into shock within minutes but I suppose 120ft isn't that impressive when you see the YouTube videos, :smiling:

But then you see these stories.

Someone died on only a 8 feet drop on a construction site near my work place last year, he fell on his head. I guess death sometimes come when we don't expect it and sometimes doesn't show up when we expect it.
