Would you choose hanging or firearms? (If availability were not a question)

I had a relative die by hanging a few years ago. We live in the US, so I always wondered why he chose hanging over shooting. Only reason I can think of is that hanging is less messy. But what abut effectiveness (obviously hanging worked just fine for him)? And if you mess up and fail, is hanging more forgiving than firearms? Which would you choose, if it had to be one of the two methods, and why?

If I do it right, using a gun is just like hitting the off switch. I don't have to worry about hanging there uncomfortably and being choked by the noose.

Hanging sounds like a terrifying risky method to me that I'd fear going wrong and leading to way worse agony, I'd choose the other as it sounds like it'd be instant death, I want a death with the least suffering as possible, I'm so tired of suffering in this cruel, futile existence, I just don't wish to suffer at all, I just want some peace instead.

tried hanging, didn't work so i would obviously go for gun

i can go out of life with a blast

id also be able to have one more life experience that ive never done before; shooting a gun so you'd still get one last thing out of life before itd be over

I would get a gun if i could. It is messy but so much faster. I would try to do it somewhere outside like.in a forest so no one has to clean up. I think that would be perfect soultion

I would choose the gun but unfortunately I'm banned from owning firearms because of mental health issues.

Gun, for sure. I'm trying to get one at the moment but the laws here arent as free as the ones in the States lol. I feel like if i had access to a loaded shotgun, id fire it at myself immediately without hesitation... Tried hanging 3 or so times and could never get it right, so i've basically given up on it Dx it definitely requires energy and patience to pull through, and i have none of those aargh

I'm good with hanging. Will likely be my choice.

Have seen a lot of successful ones in my career so i think I've got it figured out
