An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
I bought an instant bbq set from the shop. burn it in the back garden - it says to burn the bag instantly - place it on some bricks - let it burn for about 40 mins until the charcoal is grey and not smoking. - take the grill inside still on the bricks - place it in the bathroom- leave it in the bathroom (with me not in the bathroom). enter the bathroom about an hour - play on the internet in the bathroom till I pass out and ctb. any opinions? anything im forgetting? thanks
Unless you have a fairly small bathroom, I don't see this as much of a success. You would also have to seal all areas where fumes can escape, which means taping the cracks around the windows, the cracks around the door, the air vents, etc....
Yep, you'd have to find every possible area that fumes can escape. Even under the bathroom sink can pose a problem with all the pipes in the wall or into the floor.
I think this method would work just fine on a small bathroom. Use between 1 and 2 kg of charcoal and seal all the possible air exits. I tried this and I definitely could feel the intoxication and sleepiness after 15 minutes or so, but I started having paranoia and left the room...
I think I'd need a solid dose of sedatives to rein in the survival instinct. When your body panics from the lack of oxygen it can do things your mind didn't intend. With my luck I'd just get "rescued" trying this anyway, though ... Good journey, whatever you choose
you'll almost always get the survival instinct going when trying any method, especially if it takes a long time like this one... If you have benzos I recommend taking a handful with alcohol, or going into the room when you're already sleepy....Also don't take your mobile phone with you because you may have the tentation of calling someone
I believe the physical reaction to a lack of oxygen (or is it the CO2 build-up?) is anxiety, discomfort and a big kick of survival instinct. I'd take the barbituates and get in a warm bath to slide underwater as I passed out. Gilding the lily maybe but that's me. Good journey, whatever you decide
you cant get barbiturates anywhere nowadays. I need to look into charcoal method more - I thought it just felt like breathing normal air - no changes at all. I guess im wrong on that
I may be wrong but I think nitrogen tricks your body into feeling it's breathing comfortably. Technology like the so-called "debreather" involves replacing oxygen with nitrogen. There's a thread about it around here somewhere.
There's also an explanation of how CO works. That was new to me, so I humbly back away from my statements above. If your charcoal technique produces CO (not CO2) maybe it could indeed work as you hope.
Thanks for the reminder that we all need to do careful research on our methods, and apologies for muddling your thread.

Thanks, thetrude. I'm a bit concerned at the amount of smoke generated - that seems potentially uncomfortable - but I see the method has a history of success, especially when combined with sedatives:

But in the garden the concentration of CO wouldn't be sufficient - oh wait, you mean burning off the chemical bits before bringing it inside, right? It seems to me that there'll be smoke anyway, no? Not a lot, but might it not get uncomfortable in the small bathroom? I'm probably exaggerating, but you don't want to be in discomfort (nor do I want you to be).

my understanding is that you don't do anything until the charcoal has stopped giving off smoke and its a grey colour - then you take it into your chosen area and leave it there for a good while until co has filled the area - then you go into the area and there is no discomfort - I have heard other people saying there is discomfort. you can never be sure really ):
I get it now, thetrude - thank you. Your method seems to have a lot of advantages (such as inexpensive, easily obtainable materials), as long as you're sure you won't be "rescued". Have a good journey, whatever you decide, and thanks again for your patient clarity.

Hey, just read your full thread and although people mean well, they're giving you a lot of inaccurate feedback. I too have chosen this method and because I'm not going until the summer, I've been doing extensive research and experimentation to ensure the highest chance of success when the time comes. You seem to have done a good job researching because everything you've said about CO is correct. Because its specific gravity and density are the same as air, a poorly ventilated area is all that's required. Sealing the room isn't actually necessary but it may marginally accelerate the achievement of a lethal level. The gas is both odorless and colourless, and so highly toxic that death occurs in minutes. Accidental CO deaths are not uncommon and reading up on the reported circumstances can provide a lot of useful information on the experience of those who have passed by this means. All that I've read about this method confirms that it's very fast and peaceful. Of course, while the accidental circumstances confirm how easily the method works, SI doesn't factor in because the victims were unaware of what was happening. It might be instructive to ascertain if there are first-hand survivor experiences to be read. Your idea of waiting for lethal levels before entering the area seems to offer the highest chance of success, one suggestion I have is to perform a trial run using the same kind of bbq you intend to use and a CO detector to monitor levels in the chosen area. If you want to talk more about it, we can chat on Kik (omw2ctb). Wishing you a quick and peaceful journey.
I was experiencing accidental CO poisoning a while ago when i was kid. Concentration wasnt as high as required to ctb, but thats how it felt: mild headache, overall weakness simlar to what you would feel with body temp around 38C and i wanted to sleep. With high concentration you will not feel a thing and just pass out, its definitely one of the most peaceful/painless methods if done right. Doing it indoors is tricky tho

Can you give us some insights into what the tricky parts are, please and thank you? What went wrong when you tried it? Any details you could provide could be very helpful.

indoors tricky? you mean because of other people? i plan to do it in an empty house. i'll be alone for days... not happy about f-ing up the house for my family, but im not in the position to be picky (its a summer resort)
