They seem to care about you since you're giving them money, but I don't care if you die

I'm pretty sure mine would. She seems very genuine, never rushes and always has time for me, if she doesn't, she will make time. It's refreshing. I've seen the look in her eyes when she said she thought they were gonna lose me. It was real.

I'm sure mine would care as he always seems concerned when I tell him of my thoughts and makes me promise him I won't ctb.

As a therapist, I do care. If a person comes to me for help and they still CTB, I take it personally. Even though realistically, I know not everyone can be saved.. nor should they be.

I'm sure there is always a thought about whether or not they have covered their asses from a malpractice liability stand point. But some may care. Others probably see it as part of the job.

I'm sure my entire team would be very upset. I've known some for half a decade, plus think of losing something you've poured hours upon hours into :pfff:

Mine sure would, he doesn't want me to CTB i suspect he's religious or something. He even gave me a discount because my healthcare insurance doesn't fully pay out. I think it's miserable to have people care about you and not want you to CBT. Also none of my psychiatrist patients have ever CTBed according to him.

I asked my therapist how many of her patients had ctb (I met her in intensive outpatient therapy at a hospital, then we switched to one-on-one sessions, which she started last year as a part-time thing she's trying to make full-time). She looked me and said, "None. And you're not going to be the first." There was real emotion in her voice; even though it happened two/three months ago, I still think about it.

Does that happen often, @Jean4?
What does a therapist or psychiatrist do when they feel a patient of theirs falls into that "nor should they be [saved]" category? A bit of an ethical sticky wicket I guess ...

I met my mother's psychiatrist 16 years after she killed herself. He recalled that "some sort of tragedy" was involved, and was quick to back out of a potentially awkward conversation.

Apparently a lot of Jung's patients commited suicide. He was a better theorist than he was a therapist.

My doctors know I am suicidal. They will not hospitalize me unless it is absolutely necessary.

They fully expect me some day to CTB. (Calm down people. I'm not going anywhere lol)

They won't stop me. They know if I did it, they trust my judgment it was time.

In the past and wanted help I would call them. If I didn't... it's time.
