She was a regular on another forum I used to visit, and was constantly always asking for new partners.

I would never do partners, IMO it complicates everything and my suicide is my responsibility

I don't understand how can they jail her.. She is clearly suicidal , the least they could do is to get her into therapy (that's how they feel that they are helping her).

In the UK mostly they don't care. But it would have been the humane thing to do, to at least try and help.

Do you think she was intentionally doing it to cause harm then? My first thoughts were its really unfair to jail her, and I don't think she did anything wrong, and it was clearly the personal choice of the man. But, I guess I don't know the full story.

I'm not sure. I wouldn't judge how serious someone was based on backing out at the last minute, a lot of people back out last minute because of fear or instincts, including myself.
I'm not sure if she was out to cause harm or genuinely wanted to die.
I do agree that it might have been helpful to help before jailing her.

How can you defend her? This guy maybe never killed himself without a partner. She is watching like he is dying goes away and looking straight for new "partners". I doubt she was sicidal and she deserve more than this 4 years

This is what I think, too. I don't think she ever intended to commit suicide. She seemingly 'recruited' people to jump with her... and she got a high watching them die.

Whatever the motive, this is an incredibly self-centred act and I've little pity for her.

She was convicted under the encouraging/assisting suicide law. 4 years seems kinda harsh considering how pathetic some sentences have been for serious violent crimes.

I agree it's like she enjoyed watching the events play out and wanting her next hit

Usually you call the ambulance, when someone is dying. You don't go away.
Work on your reading comprehension. I was asking a specific question and it's been answered above.

After reading the article it makes a bit more sense for her to get in trouble. It appears she tried making suicide pacts with many people, and even after backing out, she tried making suicide pacts with others while the man was dying.

I don't know how it's called in english, but in my country you just can't walk away while someone is dying in front of you. Afterwards if they caught you you are in trouble.

Yes, we have such laws in my country too. But she was convicted for "Intentionally encouraging someone to commit suicide" (as Candour said), which is different, as it means she was actively helping (her actions were causal) rather than just neglecting to do something.

It was unclear to me from the article what the specific law in the UK is, but it seems the laws are about same as where I live (although here exceptions exist for euthanasia).

Im heavily against encouraging others to suicide and if she backed out after making a pact with someone and egging him on, then she is a fraud and a terrible human being. Prison time for this bitch and worse hopefully.

edit* The only sure decision is your own mind people, dont ever get involved in someone elses death. Ever. You have no right.

The police picked her up just down the street from where he was, and she never told them about him. This is mainly why she's been convicted.

Yeah, but the guy was there to die. If that were me, and you backed out at the last second and then told the cops about me I'd want to fucking kill you.

Some people who are on the verge (planing to ctb) become callous, emotionless. We don't know her state of mind. So, not sure if she is genuine or not.better not to see it in negative view.

I dont care. Im planning to cbt. I have drapes that will cover the scene of my body and alert whoever finds to call the emergency services so they have no trauma. I am suffering so much yet I have the thought to make sure others dont, so stop with the excuses.

she seems like a fraud and an enabler to me

Yeah I'm not saying I agree with her conviction, just explaining that's why they convicted her.
