Will MAID Canada be available for other nationalities?

I think I read somewhere that it won't be, because people don't wish to make Canada into a suicide tourism place like Switzerland where foreigners have travelled to.

I doubt that it will be available for other nationalities and afaik it includes "mental illness" but still that does not apply to me even if I was a canadian. Unfortantely it's still not available to everyone who wants to leave this world for their own personal reasons. But it's a small step in the right direction.

Doesn't sound like it but perhaps it will make more countries consider bringing it in. That said, I'm sure the parameters to be considered are bound to remain prohibitive for a lot of people. I imagine it will only be for those terminally/ chronically ill moving slowly on to the most severe cases of mental illness. Who knows though? If MAID does become available to those in poverty, maybe more countries will follow suit. Everyone will be in a race to bankrupt themselves...

That sucks MAID won't be available for other nationalities. But hopefully this encourages other countries to be more humane too.
