Discussion Why does society hate "easy"?

It seems that society thoroughly disapproves of actions that are deemed the 'easy way out' like recreational drug use, killing yourself (or homicide).

Because capitalism would rather you kill yourself slowly and be impoverished to unmanageable debt as you wage slave away your life and be a good consumer.

Killing yourself makes others less productive and is a net loss for the corpcocracy.

Suicide is not much easier either. It's pretty fucking hard trying to fight back the layers of indoctrination, the survival instinct, the fear of failure and pain, to let go of the only life we'll probably have, etc.
