Is carbon monoxide method reliable?
*Does people seek attention and falsely report co failure?
*Are some ways to make co less effective (charcoal/formic acid/generator/etc)?
*Is it difficult to contain co (tent/seal bathroom/car)?
Lostallhope rank co nr 14 and gives it lethality of 71.0%.

"Many variations on the CO method exist (see the newspaper report
above). All of them share the same dangers: a deadly risk for others pre-
sent in the same or adjacent rooms and the chance of permanent brain
damage to all concerned." ("Guide to a Humane Self-Chosen Death")
Carbon monoxide has both intentionally and unintentionally ended the lives of a large number of humans. Carbon monoxide was (sadly) effectively used during at Nazi German extermination camps. So the reliability of carbon monoxide at the right conditions should be very high.
What are the right conditions for carbon monoxide?
Concentration and how long exposure is needed (time)?
(according to Nitschke)
200 ppm, 2-3 hours
400 ppm, 1-2 hours
800 ppm, 45 minutes
1600 ppm, 20 minutes
3200 ppm, 5-10 minutes
6400 ppm, 1-2 minutes
12800 ppm, 1-3 minutes
Are these numbers accurate?
Formic method will only keep deathly level for 30 minutes, is that enough? (Table 6.8, oct PPeH)
Method of choice
(charcoal/formic acid/generator/etc)
If carbon monoxide diffuse at high speed (go through porous walls), is that why charcoal often fails, it diffuses faster then it accumulates?
Good place to contain carbon monoxide
car, tent, bathroom, grow tents (amazon)?
Improve the statistics
What would be the best way to contain co for ctb?
Is ctb in car with formic acid to be considered reliable?
