Help Why do some people have their handle names crossed off?

Does your name get crossed off after some time of inactivity?

They are either gone like dead gone or banned off the site. But I guess it's also possible to be crossed out for inactivity or various other reasons.

It's either they deleted their account, informed mods to delete it after some time or possibly hadn't been online for a VERY long time (?)

im fairly confident the mods dont cross your name out for inactivity
but whats been mentioned above (banned, self banned, goodbye thread), yeah

There's an option for people to disable their own account in settings.

Some are dead, most aren't, except inside.
