I'm behaving really strange lately, my plan is to end it by the end of this month and there have been many moments where i mentally feel like i'm 6 again. I find myself watching childhood shows like Noddy and the Tweenies and really getting into them and snuggling with a blanket, like i wanted to be a toddler so bad. It made think of spending the last week just reliving my childhood to the best of my ability and eat fruit and drink hot chocolate and behave like a child because it's actually really peaceful and cathartic in a way. I really wish i was 6 again. Im not sure why exactly, has anyone experienced something similar ?

Yes. I can see it in myself. I'm too ashamed to mention the things I do (they're more pathetic than anything but still...). For me it's a helplessness that I've always felt, and I was about four or five when my first trauma happened. I guess I just subconsciously go back there each time I get hurt.

I think I feel this way sometimes because the nostalgia of childhood, and the simple times where I was just happy and didnt ever have to worry about responsibilities, or health issues or the future were an incredibly comforting time. That's the reason I think in that way, anyway!

You're not alone. I'm a little embarrassed to elaborate though.

I can relate to this. I even cling to my stuffed animals for comfort. Something about being a kid reminds me of a time when I felt like I'd always be safe and protected. If I could be a kid again, I'd do everything so differently. I didn't fully understand how bad things can get.

I never knew how bad things would get either.

Im 27 and im carrying my blue stuffed bunny (gift from husband) almost everywhere i go.. Not even ashamed anymore. Even with other people around. Sleeping with it, talking to it.. Eating with it. I guess im lonely being alone all the time now. I even plan to die with that bunny in my hands.. But that bunny cant die on me no more..

So sorry. What has life come to.

I have a black cat teddy that's 40 years old one eye, been everywhere with me. It's in another house right now and I miss it like a toddler would

My depression hit hard at the age of 13, so I can relate to this. I've got a lot of good memories from my childhood that I replay in my head often. I like driving by areas that are nostalgic to my youth.

It touched me. I didn't have many good times in my childhood, but I believe that my shitty childhood is much better than the disgrace I have become.

This topic reminded me of this song:

I confess, I'm crying now.

i think your mind is going to a time where you were happy and want to relive that once more.

I feel the same way sometimes. I think it's because my childhood is the last time I was actually happy. I wasn't worried about anything and could happily spend all day watching Spongebob lol.

I sleep with my childhood stuffed animal every night. I got him as a gift when I was a baby. I carry it, sit with it beside me, watch movies with it, and sometimes even talk to it. I used to feel kind of embarrassed about it but not really anymore. It gives me a lot of comfort. The other day I was crying and I just held onto it tightly. I'm planning on taking it with me when I jump.

I've noticed that lately for me too. I've been thinking about my childhood a lot, remembering dreams I had back then, memories that I hadn't thought of in years, just thinking of back then when I had the whole world in front of me. I think it's because of our innocence as a child. Now, I struggle to get through each day. If I could count the number of times I think about dying in one day...I don't know. I'm getting to a point where the time is soon.
