  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Lost and lonely, always sleepy

I mean, why this society and law "forbids" me?
My life is already useless. I have no urge for reproduce, and lost all the objectives I had.
I prefer the easy way, and don't want to feel any kinds of pain. I just need a small dose of Pentobarbital.
Why is it illegal? Why can't I maintain my dignity with painless suicide?

Wouldn't be good for PR to allow for such things, I suppose.
After all, society's mantra is "life is sacred" yadda yadda, and the ultimate solution for high suicide rates isn't mental health resources, improving life conditions and so on, nope. The ultimate way to prevent suicide is to restrict the availability of deadly drugs. That'll stop 'em!
Doesn't matter that I can look around in my room and see about 10 things I could use to CTB that I didn't get for that purpose, including my window and my pocket knife.

(of course, that was sarcasm).
The sheer censorship and hush-hush about the choice to end your own life is enraging to say the least

Yes, I think the right to die is very important, it should be considered a basic human right. Society pushes this idea that we must live no matter what, no matter how unbearable our situation is. At the end of the day it is our lives and only we are experiencing what we are going through, so we should be able to decide when to end it. Many people are trapped in hopeless situations and just have decades of suffering ahead. Society needs to keep people alive so they can pay taxes and things like that. Taking away peaceful methods will not reduce suicide, it will just make people more desperate. The only way for society to reduce suicide is to focus on what actually makes people suicidal in the first place.

Exactly true. But it seems society just likes to put a temporary bandage on a problem or flat out ignore it altogether. We need to start getting to the root causes of suffering and if nothing can be done to help ease it then euthanasia is a strong option. Therapists just talk about basic shit like exercise, eating better, getting out etc.. Be better hiring a personal trainer then hahah
