r/suicidememes got banned, I just realised when I wanted to enjoy some ctb memes.
My question is, why does society have to ban everything relating to suicide? of course it maybe isn't that healthy to be on there everyday, but some of us sometimes just need memes to cope with the situation we are in. Like, we are adults, I totally understand if you ban such sites for children, but we can make our own decisions and understand the consequences, don't we?

Reddit is dogshit. You're constantly walking on eggshells there and the mods on most subreddits are narcissistic, power-hungry dickheads. I'm not surprised at all that a subreddit like that was banned, because No Fun Allowed.

There was this one photo of a guy at a desk on the phone and the sign said "Suicide hotline". And the speech bubble above his head said, "No, no, no. You have to take the safety off first and then pull the trigger".

One of the funniest things I've ever seen. Everyone in my life i showed it to thought it was was morbid and sick. Well maybe it is. But only a fellow suicidal can appreciate the humor. It wasn't until I started perusing this site that I realized I wasn't the only one that found suicide jokes to be funny.

And you're right, it can lighten one's mood.

Reddit has taken a nosedive. Not that it was great to begin with.

I had gotten banned during COVID for suggesting that Ivermectin had other uses aside from being a horse dewormer. And it does, its anti-parasitic and can treat many things. If memory serves, it was originally used to treat river-blindness which was a condition brought on by certain parasites.

But Reddit was on a warpath against it because some people used the stuff in attempt to cure COVID (no it wouldn't work because COVID isn't caused by parasites), so it meant that this medicine was dogshit evil and should be banished to the far reaches of hell.

Really crazy place..

I loathe censorship of any form. Free speech is about keeping us free. I mean, i was called all kinds of names in school but I wouldn't have taken away their right to say it because ultimately I want my right to speech.

Yeah the Ivermectin thing was nuts. But unfortunately that's true of lots of things in the medical industry. There are actual things that cure cancer, but they dont like it because it doesn't profit them. To heck with the entire medical industrial complex!

i hate le dark humor too. it's pretty cringy. i don't like looking at depression or suicide memes anymore because they're really unfunny and repetitive to me. i guess i can see the appeal if other people find it funny, but it seems dated in 2026.

I used to look at le depression/suicide memes on reddit too a couple of years ago. Not so much anymore, though. They do get repetitive after a while and when I look at my 4 year old collection of memes on my phone (1500 images!) I don't find any of them funny like I used to lol
