Now that I think about it, I am not too sure. When I signed up on here, it didn't say anything about being 18+.

There is a mandatory question weather you are over 18 or not. You can see it when trying to sign up.

That + younger people hardly have the ability to be 100% rational. Which is exactly what this forum needs to stand for. Rational suicides.

Impulsiveness sometimes makes people to make mistakes, so I agree, it's something that needs to be considered for a long time before doing it. The only hard thing is that unless they say it, you can't know anyone's age for sure.

You should stop. Stop telling people what to do, no matter their age, it's their lives and their choices and you have no right whatsoever to tell them to stop like you do. Everybody can advise, but to stubbornly trying to convince or like in your case practically giving an order is wrong and definitely not the right way! You might not have noticed but the whole point of this site is to be a place for people where we don't judge one another and don't try to pressure each other into doing or not doing something and we don't go around telling people what to do! So keep it to yourself, we u derstand you might be outraged because of your own beliefs and views but they are not everyone's views so keep your "stop it" to yourself if you are gonna be like that and start telling people what to do.remember you can say how you feel but you nor anyone else has any right at all to tell anybody what to do!

I don't think the mods should ban anyone under 18. You don't know any of these people, you don't know why they want to be here. You say they are being impulsive but you don't even know them, and you want to take away their chance to explain themselves and want to cut them off and take away something that smithy make them feel less lonely. I would've thought people that are here would understand why this is wrong. And who decided that 18 is a free pass age? You can be impulsive even at 80, just because society told you that 18 is a Go age you all are just going to roll with it? I would've thought people like you of all poeple would know not to listen to the society for guidance on all things right and wrong. Honestly...

Completely disagree, first of all rules are in place for a reason and with the media attention on this place currently it looks downright irresponsible we are not even following our own rules. Anyone under 18 does not have a fully formed brain to be making such serious decisions. Also, it makes me highly uncomfortable to potentially be influencing children in any way. They don't need to be put into a mindset and thought process before they have even had a chance to experience anything else. There are just some situations that can not be hidden under the guise of supporting everyone. Kids are off limits.

I disagree completely. I've had suicidal thoughts on and off for the last 7 years, but I can honestly say had I killed myself then, it would have been a massive mistake. My brain was no way developed or rational then, and I'm glad i've stayed alive till now as I've managed to have some good moments and memories.
This is not a place for kids, at all.
Now very uncomfortable with this site as an under 18 site as well. Under 18's are far to impressionable and impulsive, though that doesn't me that I don't respect their problems

I'm gonna add this. Even if the mods banned the them, it wouldn't matter everyone else would either lie or just be a lurker. I'm neutral on the matter because on one hand they should be heard, but on the other it's really sad to see children feeling like that. And that's coming from someone who wanted to die before my teens.

The biggest issue is proving the age. Anyone can come on here and say they are 21, 30, 50, or 105.... Mods have no way of clarifying the ages of those who register.

Children absolutely should be heard. But make no mistake about it the people on this forum are not the type of people who should help them. Seriously anyone who doesn't see the issue with this is either 1. biased because they are underage or 2. uneducated on the differences between kids and adults.
How can one possibly think a child that feels bad should be helped by a group of miserable suicidal people...
Once that kid grows into an adult and ends up still feeling miserable despite all of the right guidance, that's when they should be welcomed on a forum like this.

I agree. If I know for certain the individual is underage, I will not participate in the conversation. I have cut back on a lot of my responding to some threads for this reason.
It's sometimes pretty easy to tell whether the person making the thread is young, or older.

To be fair being a teen has changed. A lot of people here are 25 and above so their teen years were completely different to a teens life now. There is so much pressure from the media, your peers and in society in general. I think some of you guys just don't understand where teens are coming from. So what gives a person who is an 'adult' more of a right to kill themselves then a teen? And if you're going to use the 'too young' argument please have some good reasons to back them up.
if i killed myself before 18 i would have spared me a lot of suffering

You mentioned it yourself didn't you?
A teens life lasts 9 years. Your adult life lasts for the rest of your life after that. What teens need during these years is the right guidance. Many kids get of the right path due to physical and societal reasons and bounce back when they are grown adults. Those kids don't need others to tell them how to kill yourself.
If they don't bounce back then you get to the point where people like us are at. Then a forum like this helps.
