What do you think? Do you feel like you're in Vincent's shoes? Born inferior? Invalid? etc.

Considering all the birth defects that I suffered, and that my parents voluntarily created me when they knew that I was going to be handicapped, I am the equivalent of Vincent.

I love that movie and I think Jerome's situation is also a symbol of life's randomness. Born a golden boy, an accident drove him to a lifeless life. It's never knowing what to expect when you least expect it that makes life unbearable for me. So in a sense we're all on the same boat. Although I do get your point. You feel you were dealt the wrong set of cards from the start. It's, once again, God's sick sense of humor.
