This world's a living hell
thing is, what comes after it will be even worse.

this is worse than anime shit.
if people only realized what kind of a reality they live in they would all be locked up in the psych ward on medication to keep their sanity intact.

Life is like a bad dream you actually can't get out of.

i'm profoundly grateful that i wasn't indoctrinated with any religious beliefs; i'm more "sheep" than independent thinker, and tend towards dogmatism. i haven't found a religion that made sense to me, either. so i agree with everything you wrote... except the last sentence. praise the lord, i believe i can get the hell out of here.

seems there's little difference between believing in hell and being in it? both are lived nightmares.

( re-posting a statement I've made a few times before )

My opinion :
After death, you'll go to "heaven" (there is no hell), but it's not necessarily a 100% free ride.
You'll have a "life review", where you evaluate the life you just lived, to try to extract the lessons learned.
But for the most part it will be a good experience, and support will be given where needed from guides, etc.
Your new life in heaven may last quite a while, but if your soul hasn't reached it's full potential of enlightenment yet, then it's possible that you may eventually re-incarnate, but not until you've had a damned good rest, and are ready to "go at it" again....
But I wouldn't worry too much about the re-incarnation bit, for now you just can just think of it as you're going to heaven for a pretty long time....

I didn't become suicidal until after I became an atheist, so I don't think religion is necessarily a bad thing anymore.

Fuck, I wish I could believe in this. That sounds like the perfect afterlife. I wish [I could think] it was true.

Same for me, I struggle a lot with these thoughts. The frustrating thing is that all of the evidences points toward a lack of afterlife in my opinion, but religious indoctrination makes it hard to shake the feeling and reinforce the survival instinct somehow.

That is exactly how I've heard it to be, after reading, listening to, hundreds of near death experiencers, and having met well over a dozen in my life. God/Love/Universe, whatever you want to call it, understands and has complete love and compassion...we judge ourselves at the end of this journey. I'm trying to stick around as best I can, but physical pain will be the final decision maker, and I don't expect a judgment from myself, my soul, or anyone, or anything else for that reason. But I understand and realize, emotional pain for some can be just as excruciating, but with that, I'd say, reach out for more love, because it's out there.

Oh my. Not at all. There's a wealth of information and experiences to the contrary from people of all backgrounds and religious backgrounds. Maybe look into videos and online articles from IANDS.org...International association of near death studies. It has become very common at this point.

I'd say from what I read, we judge ourselves.

Btw, I didn't mean you when I said the emotional pain part, I just reread what I wrote and wanted to make sure I was understood, I just was using the word "you" as in anyone, I tend to do that. And you know of guides, that is true from every single person I've met or read about. We all have them.
