I dont see why not. One would still not be legally declared dead until 7 years after someone (family or friend) files a mission persons report.

No, nothing of the sort. I'm not that interesting a subject really. I'm just really private and have kids, so am protective of their privacy.

I would probably want my family to know. I don't want to be written off as missing and have my mother fight to find me when I'm hanging in the middle of nowhere. Seems pretty depressing.

The issue for me will be about the method of ctb. They publish the name of the those who jump in front of a train. I don't want to have that on my record. If I opt for that method of ctb I'd rather not have ID on me.
