• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I think on SaSu there is a less taboos than in real life. And in some insances real life behavior is a taboo. There seem to be good and reasonable taboos and bad taboos.

Most topics surrounding suicide seem to be less taboo. However, we don't talk that much about suicide encouragement and how we define it. But there are some threads related to this topic.

I think there was a time where there was a silent taboo to speak up againist certain promortalists in the community and how they affect this place. But this place and many members have risen up and tackled this issue. And I tried to help to solve this problem with my voice.

Prolife talk is a taboo. But it depends on the definition. There seem to be people who consider almost everything recovery related to be prolife.
Maybe the taboos differ from subforum to subforum.

Politically, I think some Trump voters feel stigmatized. This forum is more left leaning I think because of the staff and trans friendly. So insulting trans people is a taboo which is good. No to trans hate. There is extremism on Sanctioned Suicide. But compared to other internet sites like 4chan it is way less extreme. Many people avoid politics on here.

Conspiracies don't seem to be a taboo. But there are not many conspiracy theorists open like Alex Jones on here.

Admitting crimes. I recently posted have you considered murder. First people might have thought this is a joke thread. But there are very interesting and honest replies. And it is impressing how open some people are with their thoughts. I think this is one reason why I like SaSu. There are less societal taboos on here. However, these are only thoughts. I think most people who committed severe crimes remain very vague because they fear judgement. I once made a poll with a similar topic. And we were not sure whether people who admitted murder or rape only joked. I think talking about sole thoughts is easier. I also have not read anyone who has thoughts of a terror attack. I considered to do such a thread but I don't want to land on the list of the feds.

Confessions of all kinds. There are some confession threads. And again the content can be shocking. There is a part of me that is impressed when people make themselves vulnerable and open up. At the same time I am shocked by the content. I was really really shocked by some things that I read. Some people on here seem to have a sociopathic personality or at least some traits. But they are also suicidal and want to kill themselves. I think there were people interested in cannibalism. some people admitted to have watched child porn (which really shocked me), feeling of wanting to torture animals and some people already did that, feeling of wanting to drive others to commit suicide and stuff like that.

What do you think?

In general terms I guess the most objectionable "taboo", for me at least, would be being judgemental.
I wouldn't view myself as particularly "left leaning" and have no real political views ... I guess I'm an equal opportunity sceptic when it comes to politics and career politicians.

I disagree with your analysis of people speaking up about pro mortalism as being a taboo. In fact, it's pro mortalism itself that's a taboo and it's still a taboo. So there's my answer. Also, providing resources for suicide methods beyond the megathreads here is incredibly taboo too.
