Where can you hide a firearm?

I've got a rifle that I plan on using, but as I'm sitting here trying to go through with it, I struggle to build up the courage. I might need a few days. The thing is, I still live at home, and my mother is extremely nosy. There's nowhere in the house I could hide a rifle without her finding.

Do you have a basement? If so, how about under the floor joists with other stuff in front of it so no one could see it?

you could buy a lock and place the rifle inside of a gymbag or something and then place it inside of another bag and lock it, then place it under your bed/closet or something. maybe pack it with towels/blanket so it doesnt feel like a rifle through the bag

Handgun is easier to hide than a rifle, can hide in any ordinary looking bag. If I had to hide a rifle though maybe a larger suitcase?
