When will I know that it's time? Why is there a part of me that refuses to give up even though I know with all my heart that it's over, the game is over, my life is over, there's no more hope.
That does sound like a tiring situation to be trapped in, but I guess that after all only you know when it's time to finally leave, I believe that it's a feeling that one has. I wish you the best.

When the time is right, we disassociate, leading to a situation I call "the black pit of despair". I've heard others describe the same phenomenon. As if you are blinkered and those things that cause you to hesitate (people you care about or that care about you, etc) aren't able to be seen or considered.
