When/Is it Appropriate to Share Sources Privately?

Would you share sources privately if someone asked? When would you do it; like how old does the users account need to be, how many posts should they have, etc..? How would you verify they're not just tricking you to get the information to try and remove the sources?

I'm glad you posted this. It seems some share with everyone and some don't share at all. Since IC was shut down I haven't shared at all and oreviously I was selective and usuallybwoukd only share with those that had at minimum 5 months on site. But I'd like to hear other responses

Yeah, I think I'd only share with someone who was here for six months or more and had at least 50 posts. I need to know someone didn't just make an account, let it sit, then came back to get the sources.

Makes one wonder how many accts one person might have.

it is very complicated. Because people come here desperately like i was and need a fast way out. Not giving them the opportunity to know is very cruel. But at the same time it is risky because of the prolifers . It is very complicated. I guess i would need to talk to them deeply to know if they actually someone who deserves to know it

I feel exactly the same and one op said l was on a power trip cos l wouldn't share. I am very hesitant to let anyone know where l got my SN but at the same time l feel guilty cos l want to help. At the same time l had to search myself to find a contact and don't know why it's so hard for others to do
