Sometimes I notice that many users here are quite smart. Albeit formal education per si is not the same as intelligence, it made me curious: the demographic here is highly educated?

Edit: I'm well aware that many members here are very young so they don't even have the age to be Master Degree or something

High school aka secondary school as it is known in the UK. I tried college, couldn't handle it and dropped out very quickly.

Interesting poll idea!

Might I suggest fleshing out/adding options? "Some college" (i.e. attended college but didn't graduate), "Bachelors or equivalent", and "PhD", maybe 🤔

Although I'd think that the correlation between educational attainment and intelligence is probably more tenuous here than in the general population, since mental illness probably acts as a confounding factor.

Thought about it, but I imagine users here that are "PhD" for example are so small, so a option that comprisses anything more than college/bachelor seems enough
Besides that, SaSu userbase comes from a lot of different countries. Where I live, for example, there's no such a difference between "college" and "bachelor", so I used broader terms
Don't know if it's good to add some "tech course" or something, tho

I hope I expressed myself well

Some years ago I made a poll about it and a lot of people participated. Sadly, I cannot find it anymore. A comparison would be interesting.

I quit college. In Germany I have Hochschulreife which is similar to a Highschool diploma.

I have graduated from high school and attended in tech college after that for one year actively but then all the fuck-up happened and I am about to drop out of it in the future if I don't do something soon. I was still able to sign in there for this academic year but I haven't made progress with my studies there in 4 years and I am unsure nowadays what I am capable of achieving there anymore because of my mental/physical illnesses and what those things cause me (passivity, lack of motivation, intrusive thoughts that make concentration hard and inability to understand complicated, new things because of lack of brain power etc.) and the uncertainty what I really want to do with the rest of my life. It's just depressing to think about the whole thing nowadays. Very likely dropping out totally will be my faith in the end...

Two BA degrees. I chose unwisely the first time round. The second degree was very skills based, which appealed more than a Masters.

Ended up with a type of Masters back in the day, but not working in a related field anymore. Very interesting poll!

Attended multiple universities but chose traveling over getting my degree. Kept a very well-stocked bookshelf and read constantly. Am lucky enough to have a career that allows me to use my experience, creativity and wisdom and didn't require a degree from uni, but I love academia. I love hanging out with people who are smarter than me.

I left school at 16 and did an apprenticeship but I did a part time Bachelors degree in my 30s, then a Masters in my 40s and have recently got my PhD in my 50s.

I don't use the "Dr" honorific much though as my PhD is in geology.
