this test is stupid because you can't calibrate exactly how stressful each of those events would be, as everyone has a different coping threshold

"Christmas? +20 points."
"Minor violations of the law, +11"

Are y'all really comparing your ''anxiety levels'' based on some stupid test on the internet? Jeez.
Also why isn't this under off topic, this has nothing to do with suicide discussion.

Obviously, you can calculate stress levels exactly. But it does give you a sense of your life stressors at any given moment. And, yes, Christmas can be a stressor.

Also, there are universally acknowledged major stressors in life, such as, divorce, separation, financial issues, health issues, work issues, death of a loved one.

You're right, it can. Loneliness on Christmas Day can be particularly ctb-inducing, which raises the question why it only gets 20 points, which can also be argued to be too much compared to other events because some are fortunate to be able to enjoy the occasion overall. This test assumes that everyone is one and the same.

Of course. It is a standardized test of middling value, EXCEPT there are probably many people who are unaware of how much of their stress is related to life events and this can help put that in perspective.

Score, 94, mostly caused by health stuff.
Rhea, this is Offtopic - see at the top of the page, the one in bold. And you're not "disgusting trash"! Finding and becoming a member of this site shows intelligence, foresight, awareness and the desire to be proactive.
Many years ago I happened to be stuck in a boring church service, and two little teenage girls went up on stage and said that they were "filthy garbage". It was so pitiful that their religion had taught them to feel that way about themselves!! I just got up and walked out...

It assigns fixed scores to wide-ranging variables, the usual 'one-size-fits-all' psychiatrist ignorance, the test is crap

The alternative, I suppose, is an individualized appraisal by a psychiatrist, which I imagine you would also say is crap. There is a lot of anger on this board against the mental health care community, the pro-lifer community, etc. Whoever they are, I don't think they are inherently evil and they are not targeting you to make your life difficult. I'm sure the mental health community has helped a lot of people, but some are just not responsive to what they have to offer.

This is exactly right, deaths increase every Christmas, even deaths that are related to old-age just because of the stress surrounding holidays.

I can certainly say that every single birthday and Christmas I've made it through, I'm a wreck leading up to it, during and after.

I feel like this test is a little faulty because it seems to have a few repetitions with minor word changes that really just makes it feel redundant while not covering other things at all.
It landed me at around 600+, but anxiety is just like pain being relative, some people handle stress better than others while others don't handle any whatsoever.
I feel like this test was made purely to let people know to see a doctor if scoring high enough, to get checked out than getting definitive answers.

I hate these kinds of tests. Reifying personalities is rip among the youth, though.

This is a can of worms, but... good intentions and fair courses of action don't always correlate. The pro-life agenda is, I agree, propagated with good intentions, but so I would suggest are a lot of far-right political views. Is Trump a good president because he means the country well? Pro-life appears to relate to far-right politics but to a lesser extreme, but basically any movement that seeks to dictate who/what we can and cannot be/do with our own lives should be starkly opposed, at least in my opinion.

It goes back to the old metaphor of the burning high-rise. Pro-life is the equivalent of putting bars on the windows.

Every single thing of these can be a source of stress or relief, depending on everything else that is going on.
