Whats the name of this infamous flower used in exitinternational and peacefulpill?

I didn't do a deep search about it so yeah I'm lazy and curious.
Oh also it would be great if someone can also mention about the reason/s why ExitInternational chose this flower.
It looks pretty similar to New England Aster but I'm not exactly sure

Solely a guess, but purple chrysanthemums represent death in parts of Europe.
