A good song always helps make things smoother. What song do you think works best during the act, and why?

For me it will have to be this one :

ABBA - The Winner Takes It All

The winner takes it all, the loser has to fall.

The resignation conveyed in the lyrics is what makes the song really fit the moment in my opinion. It mirrors the human condition described by existentialists. We search for fairness and meaning in a world that offers cruel and unjust outcomes instead. In that sense, the song isn't about bitterness. It's about clarity, and clarity, in an absurd world, is often the closest thing to peace.

I listened to some of these before my first attempt

I'm So Tired - Fugazi
I Know It's Over - The smiths
How to Disappear completely - Radiohead
Asleep - The Smiths
Exit Music For A Film - Radiohead

All of these songs talk about depression/suicide in some way at least from my point of view lol. Besides touching on those themes, I think they're great songs overall. I highly recommend giving some of them a listen specially the Fugazi one. The Fugazi one just sounds like depression, that's why it's my favorite.

Don't have particular song, I would probably pull up something from my playlist (mainly electronic/metalcore/altmetal/numetal)

I want it to be something that feels cathartic and invigorating for me. So I can be full of dopamine when I go out. I'm not committed to any specific song.

There's a good chance I would choose rock/metal/punk for that. I've also thought about doing it shortly after (or right when) the beat drops on some of my favorite electo tracks. Those make me feel so pumped up and ready to do anything.
