What to do in a psych ward?

I'm currently in a psych ward and don't know what to do. What did you do?

I sneaked a knife in to cut myself and my stupid ass gave it on entry. How am i so retarded?

go to group therapy, pretend to improve so you can go home, eat, chill

There is not much you can do, unfortunately. Always pretend that you are going better to get out as soon as possible. You will get out sooner when they notice that you improve.

Read book. Watch tv or Twitch or Netflix etc. meditate and sleep.

You have your phone, at least! I didn't have access to mine. I just played a lot of solitaire and talked to other people at the ward. If you have your phone, you can scroll on social media, watch a new show that interests you, play games, or text people from the outside world (if you have anyone).

Each time I've been, I just stayed in my room and watched Youtube and tried to sleep for as long as I possibly could. I also pretended to be fine when I was visited by a nurse or doctor.

Puzzles/card games/word search, talking to people, groups, eating, make sure to stay out of your room so they will see you "making the effort". Groups groups groups! They will definitely want you to at least attend, taking meds without resistance. These all will help you... especially staying out the room and groups... they really want you to be in group therapy

You might even meet a likeminded soul and fall in love. It happened to me a few times. The most story-worthy moment was being let into the cell of my girlfriend, who was in solitary at the time, and making love, with me sitting against the door.

ahhh you're so lucky to have a phone in there! Don't feel bad about giving them the knife, sometimes we panic and honestly it's better that you gave it to them, they'd just keep you longer for having it. For now, try writing stories or imagining a life you'd have if everything was 'perfect'

Not sure as i haven't been to one myself but i imagine i'd just talk to other people since i doubt they'd let me keep a phone there. Which is the main reason i'm scared to go to one, i'd go insane without my phone i'm really sorry you have to be there though, i have never heard anything good about wards

I went on my own. If you dont go they force you anyway im waiting for someone to come in so i can ask them if i can leave since i entered at free will

If you want out then you have to pretend to get better , or maybe you could actually try to get better like its supposed to do.

I would tell you that a place like that doesn't look like a good place to find healthy relationships, but my first kiss was inside a psych ward, so I'm not one to talk.

Cute! I was thinking about getting admitted a couple of months ago when I was having a horrible panic attack, but I decided not to because I felt it could just make the entire situation worse. Maybe I should have though, not like I managed to recover on the courses I was taking right then anyway.
