Discussion What to do before ctb, for people we leave?

Hey everyone,

So, the big day is coming very soon. Maybe tomorrow or the next day if possible (the sooner the better). And it's really really nice to know that everything is finally going to end.

But I want to make things right, for my sister. I thought about leaving a note for my her and her son (I love them very very very much) and use delayed mails to explain what happened to some of my contacts.

Is there something else I need to do to make things easier for people around me? I don't even know how to tell the police to come and get by body like 2 or 3 hours after my suicide (enough to be sure those dummies won't wake me up ^^). Maybe delete all datas on my computer so nobody have any access to the forum or some private files I have. Keeping some music files on a USB stick to play during my funerals... Clean up my appartement too.
If you have any good advice, things I should do before I ctb, I would really appreciate it.

You can usually send an email to non-emergency section of your local police department. You could probably notify them by sending them a delayed email. Other than that, try to make the note seem like this was your only option, and that you sister and your son couldn't have stopped you. It may be harsher, but it should help them accept it.

Don't use delayed emails they have been known to report to the authorities. Use the regular mail instead.

Im writting letters, a lot, ones will have explanations, ones will not feel guilty, and for other ones i will send them to f*themselfs for being so mean to me

There is an add-on for thunderbird to send mails automatically when you want to. I may use that. Thanks for the tip!

Just make sure your computer don't shut off.

You should leave a note for your sister and son if thats your choice. Its the least you can do and it showed that in this awful time you thought about them. They can use it for closure and acceptance.

I would detail the reasons you are going and why and tell them how much you love them and what it took on the scales to outweigh that love. They deserve to know that Uncle made a considered choice. Always re-read the note. You can edit it any time you want and itll become a sort of journal.

When the time comes you will know to delete it or print it but having it there ready as part of your pre-flight checks will also give you comfort.
