I see this less commonly with LSD. There's a small cultlike group that believes LSD grants some kind of spiritual awakening. That your ego dies and you reach Buddha-esque enlightenment.

At the same time, you really haven't lived until you experienced complete Ego Death and allowed the ageless entities beyond Time and Space inhabit your hollow husk of a physical body. You really need to be a 90 year old Buddhist monk to pull that line off without sounding like some new age snake oil salesman.

LSD is one of those drugs I'd like to try when I'm old enough not to care but not too old to enjoy it. I'm not expecting spiritual enlightenment, but it would be really interesting to see what it feels like. (As with any strong drug, it'd be nice to have a guide with me when I did it.)

There's a bunch of other drugs that I'd like to try before I get too old, like coke, horse...
