technically this is a simulation because our brain has to simulate all the information in a way it can understand it. we never experience raw reality.

I'm a very spiritual person, so I believe the higher purpose is likely to grow spiritually and learn lessons our soul needs to learn in order to evolve.

Nevertheless, these lessons are often extremely painful and distressing, so here I am on this site wondering if there's a way out of it if becomes too unbearable :))

I am very into the simulation hypothesis and have watched a lot of videos about it and think it is very likely we are living in a simulation if you are interested here is an amazing but long video explaining some possible truth that we are living in a simulation

There's a thin line between spiritual growth and deep depression/existential crisis.

It has a lot to do with your own religious standpoint.

I can only say for myself since I'm atheist.
I'm starting to think simulation is possible but without coming from spiritual learning purpose.
because there is nothing to learn.
By "nothing to learn" I mean,
Since You don't remember your last life, there's essentially nothing for you to improve.

Unless you believe in the collective consciousness.
But people claim that their own consciousness does not exist when they are passed out,
which means consciousness is related to brain function,
which could potentially mean that our individual consciousness does not add up to a collective pool once we die.

Thats what I make of it.
I'm not that sophisticated but this is a very vague topic.
technically this is a simulation because our brain has to simulate all the information in a way it can understand it. we never experience raw reality.

I agree with Fumito in what he said about our experiences through our perception of things.
It's scientifically proven.

If so, thinking we are living in a simulation would have been allowed by the designer of that simulation written in your set of rules, algorithms that make up your character. As well for those that do not believe we are living in a simulation.

I think of a book where a character suddenly realizes they are living inside a book and argues with another character who refuses to believe it. They're both simulated.

Any evidence or proof we are or we are not living in a simulation could be simulated.

That depends. Is anyone else as "real" as us or we are the only truly conscious being for which the simulation is running? In the first case, well, there's people that didn't have the opportunity to experience the simulation, as they died too young, or what happens with those that are unconcious right now because of a comma or something like that? Are we supposed to live everyone's lives one at a time so we can accumulate every possible experience?

Also, what happens after the simulation is over? Do we experience actual reality? And are we even being subjected to the same conditions of the outside world? Same biology, physics, chemisty, psychology? Or this is just one type of simulation in which we will be subjected to?

I usually think that, if we are not just some delusional collective of nervous systems experiencing an emergent property of the universe called consciousness, we are then indeed part of a simulation, but just as a mathematical experiment of some sort.

We like to think that are our suffering will be ever compensated, but the universe has shows us how uncaring it is, so we better take the very limited control we have to find the things that makes us happy and make the most of it, because we only have one shot... allegedly...

Anyways, if there are other realities and ways to live, I don't want to be on this one anymore, it's really shitty. This game is not for me, pass me the next one, please.

So there's no anti-simulation theory so far that can challenge the theory?

I could see life being a simulation, but I don't really see how it could be to help us grow. The world would probably be a lot more forgiving of people's mistakes if that were the case, and a lot of people can get away with terrible things with no guilt or consequences.

Would it matter?
The issue remains; for some people it's just not worth the trouble.

A simulation by who and for what? I don't get these theories sorry. We're just just here because we are.

If anyone wants to explain it to me I am bored, will listen

Indeed, even such a "simple" thing as visible light is highly limited, not to mention our eyes receive the world upside down, & also decoding this light in our mind. Position light electromagnetic spectrum range right

whatever this life is, i hope that when we die, we wake up, breathe a sigh of relief, and think to ourselves:

"oh, right...that was just all just a bad dream...."
