None. You simply return to the empty void from whence you came. Just my opinion.

Well no movie gets the afterlife right because nobody really knows what the afterlife is. I guess Beetlejuice would be my favourite, lol funny movie.

Technically Soul is probably close since it just shows everyone simply disappearing for good once they're dead unless they were exceptional people then they briefly get to mentor unborn souls before they still eventually end up meeting the same fate. Unfortunately this movie also proposes that souls can only physically be born if they actually want to be born for any reason which kind of throws one of antinatalism's arguments right out the window. 😅

Its not a movie but the way Rustin Cohle in True Detective describes his NDE in his coma rang true to me.

Trying to find it on youtube but not finding the particular moment. Frick.

Can't think of any movie that ever got it right. But I'm 99.9% sure that Sylvia Plath nailed it in her novel, The Bell Jar, when she/her protagonist told the preacher this:

"I told him I believed in hell, and that certain people, like me, had to live in hell before they died, to make up for missing out on it after death, since they didn't believe in life after death, and what each person believed happened to him when he died."

Well-told, dearest Sylvia. Well-told.

No film made of mortal material can depict spiritual realities.
