Your genetics, your family, your country of birth...etc? What in your opinion makes life grossly unfair?

The answer lies in your question my friend. The most unfair thing about life is that it is unfair.

How little control we have. You don't get to pick your appearance, health, intelligence level, personality, and many life experiences are beyond our control on top of that.

The most unfair thing is that some people are born with better cards than others (genetics, family, environment, opportunities). Yes, granted there are people who have been dealt shitty cards and managed to prosper, but those are few and oftenly, society amplifies and overapplies their case to fit everyone else (which doesn't work - you can't use an outlier or exception and make it the rule/general scenario).

Ultimately, not being able to choose what I want to be before I was born (genetics, gender, ethnicity, race, etc.) and not being able to peacefully, exit life with dignity (meaning one has to hide their suicidal intentions and plans from authorities, people in power, their family and friends, others; method; and then hope they did the right research, materials; and finally overcome the SI and go through with the attempt. Failing at any step meant that their attempt would fail.)

^ agree with that last paragraph

Life (or modern society) is most unfair by making death (and therefore suicide) so very taboo that we must lie and deceive those we love in order to pull it off.

The most unfair thing about life is that it is not unfair or fair: it just is. Life is not sitting around, watching us, and rewarding us based on our mental visions, imaginings, moral intent, heartfelt desires, deepest prayers, fervent wishes, or any other mental/emotional state or action. It's not a conscious living thing, and therefore has no knowledge of our wants, desires, and feelings. Life is just neutral time and matter, responding only to our words and deeds in accordance with certain scientific laws.

It doesn't matter how much we've suffered, or how much work we've done. We get what we desire due to our words and deeds matching the right circumstances. That's it.

In other words, karma is a lie.

This is unfair because it means no matter how much we suffer, that suffering - in and of itself - does nothing to move us closer toward a solution to our suffering, therefore that suffering is objectively completely meaningless.

To life, words and deeds matter. Nothing else - and certainly not emotions.

Life doesn't care how long you've suffered over something. If getting that something is not scientifically possible as a result of your words and deeds fitting in with the current circumstances of time and space in some particular way, you aren't getting it - no matter how badly you want it, how much you've suffered from not getting it, or how many times you've tried and failed to get it.

I guess it's unfair that we just have to play the cards we're dealt and it might be a really bad hand. Some are born so privileged others so disadvantaged.

This is the main reason I want to ctb, the most unfair thing about life is that karma doesn't seem to actually exist and everything is unpredictable and terrifying no matter what you do to avoid it or try to be a good person

Genetics can be very unfair. You could get some terrible disease or have some deformity. For example I am really young and losing hair. I did nothing to deserve this and yet it will happen and I will look ugly and weird (you can look good bald but I am not good looking at all). When you are born pretty with good genetics then you are happier because you don't have to deal with terrible diseases, deformities. You are automatically more attractive to people and more outgoing because you don't have problems looking yourself in the mirror. You can of course be depressed and suicidal but atleast you won't have to deal with this shit.

The fact that money determines your entire life
Yes. This is something I wish to tell every young person who, like me, wanted to "follow their dreams and passions" without worrying about money. So I did. And what happened?

Like 99.9% of the people who do this, I never succeeded in making money from "following my dreams and passions". I spent most all of that time working shit day jobs, being poor, and constantly being held back from "successfully following my dreams and passions" primarily because of a lack of money.

People who are financially independent and don't have to do anything they don't want or like to do just to make money are the people who are way more likely to succeed, due to their having 24 hours a day to spend on their dreams and passions, without worry or stress associated with being poor, and also having the resources to create what they want, promote it how they want, and pay people to promote and market it for them.

It doesn't matter if you write the best song or best book in the world - if no one else beyond your friends, family, and a handful of strangers hears or reads it, in terms of success it's like you never created it.

My advice to any person, especially those with a real passion for something, is: get financially independent first, then pursue your dreams and passions.

It doesn't matter if this takes 5 or 10 years, because when you are financially independent, you can spend 100% of the rest of your life (that's maybe 40 or 50 years!) doing exactly what you want and committing all the time you want to indulging in whatever dream or passion you desire - and you have the money and resources to market and promote your work, thereby sharing it with the world.

This is much much better than, say, becoming a musician at 17, and spending the rest of your life working day jobs to make ends meet, or, worse, finding yourself at the age of 40 playing weddings and karaoke events, always replicating someone else's work.

Get financially independent first, and then follow your dreams, dammit!

That the few people you love so much that it hurts and who even cares/cared about you gets taken away from you either dying prematurely or drifting apart and not speaking to each other anymore. That you only get to know when the good times happened when it's all over.
