The Loved Mistake

If I were to say, jump off a 36 metre tall grain silo onto gravely ground, what would likely happen to my body? Would it be likely I'd die on impact? Would it be messy?
It's just that that's the highest thing in this place - and most other methods are unavailable to me.It wouldn't be likely to kill you on impact, no. You might get lucky, but most likely you'd either die slowly from internal injuries and blood loss, or get saved with serious injuries, depending on how quickly someone finds you.
As to messy... Depends on your definition. Jumping isn't usually overly messy (like spray bits of skull and brain matter about with a gunshot to the head), but you're talking about a pool of blood and a generally unpleasant looking body.
The sources I've read say that suicide by jumping should be highly lethal at 50 meters and up onto hard ground... so 36 meters seems like it falls into that risky category. I'd be very worried about surviving with serious injuries, and would find a different location or method.

I just don't know. I also have a fear of heights which could make the chance of survival higher. I've been struggling to be able to close the Carotid arteries in practise. This is a nightmare. To each their own. I'd pick hanging over a fall that might not be fatal, but it's not my call. I guess landing head first and definitely not feet first would be the best advice if you're dead set on jumping from this location.

@nzdarkshark, can you get to another location somehow, with some effort & planning? And when you say "most other methods are unavailable", which options *are* available? Because jumping from an iffy height isn't very sensible.
I'm sorry about everything that's led you to contemplating this. x
My only options really are suspension (most likely partial) or jumping from the silo. I can't receive packages because I live with my parents and I cannot drive.
I guess I could get hit by a truck - but I don't want to involve innocent people if I can help it.
I don't know how I could get it..Would CO with charcoal be possible? It seems better than jumping from something not quite high enough to definitely kill you.
I'll look into it - I just don't know how I can get my hands on charcoal and heat it without my parents getting suspisious. I don't know where I would do it either - unless I somehow got into the small shed out back and taped the door (which has a hole in it).(((Hugs)))
There are several threads about charcoal - I hope this link will take you to my search results:

It's not the easiest method to get right, but if you can get Asian charcoal that seems to work better than European or American kinds. It's not expensive, so maybe you can buy it casually for your newfound interest in barbeque grilling or clam baking or something.
You do need a small space that's separate from where anyone else could get overcome by it, but it's worth looking into.
Be gentle with yourself. I'm sorry you're contemplating this and that you feel lost. x
