Nylon is good and it depends a bit on your weight and goes from 10 to 16mm

I am going with a 1000kg rated load strap (polyester loop).
Looping one end to beam
Looping other end around neck to make the noose.

it is wide: 46mm.
From testing, the extra width seems more comfortable for full-suspension.
Any disadvantage?

Anywhere from 10-16mm should be totally fine for full suspension. Nylon is also a fine choice, or cotton as they are both strong enough and pretty comfortable on your skin.

not necessarily. Keep in mind that you don't really want the rope to cut you, and you don't want the airways to be pinched too sharply since that can hurt a lot. It might be wise to use light padding like a cloth or scarf to spread the rope.

More than anything ensure that this rope is strong enough to hold your weight. Breaking is the biggest disaster along along with being found early.

Yeah I'm planning to scarf.

So in terms of pain there isn't difference between 5mm+scarf and 10-16mm?

no, with enough padding you can get the same effect as a thicker rope so there should be no problems
