What cal. Gun

Im only probably be able to pay for a hand gun, would a .45 or a 308 do the trick? Gunna hit the sweet spot behind my ear so I figure it would do but any thought or opinions?

Either caliber would be fine, it all depends on where you aim really.

Aiming, for the most part, is far more important than caliber.
