My psychiatrist heavily recommended I use it, but as someone with a dissosiative disorder and hallucinations, is it something I should worry about? I don't really know anything about Ketamine...
i did a course of ketamine treatments, one treatment every 1-4 weeks for a little bit, starting at a dose of 0.75mg/kg and going up to 0.85 and then 0.95 over the course of my treatments. for me it was pretty helpful in neutralizing the worst parts, ie that "black hole" you sink into with depression sometimes. i had less suicidal and self harming thoughts and haven't self harmed in a while at this point. problem is, when you stop doing it, after a while the effects wear off. as long as you had periodic "boosters" you'd probably be safe from that however. i'm talking maybe every 2-3 months for the forseeable future after your original course of ketamine treatment. i'm not totally sure how it would affect someone with a dissociative disorder, i suspect i could have one but i also have OCD which tends to manifest as me obsessing over whether or not i have mental disorders so i very well might not. however when i took ketamine last, (oral, i usually do IV but oral was the only way available last time) during the course of the drug i was able to see and communicate with my alters more than usual, and see my headspace, so it's possible it could help with internal communication. with the IV ketamine however it's a lot more all consuming and it's honestly hard to remember that you have a brain and body at all at a high enough dose, as everything structural that you know about yourself, your brain, the world, just melts away and you become one with the endless purple black swirling that is the universe. honestly a beautiful experience. so, take all that information as you will and i wish you good luck in your recovery.
