We have a retired clergyman who volunteers where I work, he's not your usual dull vicar but very funny with it. Anyway last year a guy kept ringing every time he was volunteering with us to the point he was stalking him and all because he had councilled him after a suicide attempt, anyway he was in today and I asked him about this man and he said he's gone, he took my council and after months of no change I told him that instead of my discouraging him not to commit suicide and advised him the other way. He was in a terrible mess and I could see not way to help but but be there for him. I said but isn't suicide a sin and he said not in my eyes, it's a release from a bad life and into a new one. I brought him a cream tea and hugged him and I said WOW, he said why should someone suffer if they don't have to.
