Enough is enough I think. We suffer so much yet we stick to live. But what is the point of this? We should just go.

Congrats life, you won. I give up are your words. You have realized that life wins, not you. Then why can you not forgive yourself?

I see suicide as me winning. Life wants to keep us going. Suicide is not me beating the game, but straight up walk away from The table.

Some people don't have anything to forgive. I am how I am. It's not something that needs to forgiven.

I am just hard on myself in general. That I cant explain why. I try to forgive myself for the things that i have done and be easier on myself but its always been difficult.

I apologize if this is a bit of a lousy answer.

Are you talking about my comment?

Just because I am how I am doesn't me im happy with how I am. I was born fundamentally broken and which caused me to snowball into breaking myself more.

I didn't choose to be born like this, my life choices were part of my pre-despostion to act this way. If anything I should forgive my parents for having shitty genetics haha

Fair enough. Not everyone is to blame but plenty also look for something to blame because it's easier and there's no reason for doing that unless you're trying to protect yourself. Why bother if you want to kill yourself. The lack of honesty here is sometimes disappointing as is the lack of them being able to handle the truth when I give it them

I should clarify I don't actually blame my parents. They couldn't predict I was born with shitty genetics.

My point isn't that other people are to blame. My point is that no one is to blame. OP asked why we can't forgive ourselves, I was saying that some people genuinely don't have anything to forgive. Getting people to forgive themselves implies they need to feel guilty.

I agree with what you're saying though, however often people in the point of crisis are often not look for honesty. And it's often wiser, IMO,to use a degree of tactfulness and care rather than straight honesty.

This is why I defend 'pro lifers'. They're only saying the comforting words they think that person wants to hear and most of the time it is

I used to struggle immensely due to being exposed to forced positiveness and thinking I was guilty for not being receptive to it.

Slowly gave less of a fuck about this nonsense, now I understand we're humans and this pain is too. My struggle is valid, as is anyone else's.

Death will be the great equalizer anyway, no guilt after it or so I repeat myself.

Glad to see you switched from blaming yourself to forgiving yourself. I am with you, blame is only useful as long as you want to play the dysfunctional game of society. The freedom of cbt is for me to say 'fuck it, I don't have to shame myself anymore, I won't accept the guilt anymore, your system is fucked up, inhumane, cruel, stupid and I could care less about it.' I have forgiven myself a long time ago; but I realize that without a lot of money and being okay with isolation, you can't survive in this world without guilt tripping yourself by proxy.
Congrats life, you won. I give up are your words. You have realized that life wins, not you. Then why can you not forgive yourself?
No one wins, everyone loses. Life can't win by default; what should such a win look like? A bunch of suffering, anxious organisms fighting for survival, raping, pillaging, killing each other and then dying. I think we win by 1) not procreating 2) helping others realize procreating is a sin 3) alleviating/ preventing as much suffering as possible and 4) ultimately we win by rejecting life.

I think it's quite sad really that of all the planets in all the galaxies there is only life on this one and we can't handle it. After thousands of years of evolution we haven't learned anything. The chances of us being here at all are so small. An appreciation of it is what's called for.

Feel you brother. I've always maintained that we should be kind to each other, ourselves and the world. Our spec of existence in relation to the vastness of time and space makes me feel so insignificant, combine that with the conundrum that is that "life" does make you wonder what's the point?
Maybe leave the joint a bit better than when you found it?

Debatable. We haven't discovered proof beyond any reasonable doubt that life exists, but my personal opinion is that the universe is too vast to not at least have another maybe not carbon-based life elsewhere.

There's maybe a doomer blob smoking an iridium cigarette, wishing he could jump from the diamond building in city 426-B.

That we know of that's all. If there was and they said some of the things we were saying what would we think?

If this wasn't meant for me it certainly felt like it was. Agreed with all of it anyway. If everyone thought like this then problems would cease to exist.
